Abby's Story...
Abby is a Chihuahua with a sweet personality. She was surrendered to Ashe County Animal Control due to no fault of her own, and she is now in an Ashe Humane Society foster home.

Abby is up-to-date on all her shots and was spayed.

Abby is housebroken and is getting along very well with the other dogs and the cat in her foster home. She is an indoor dog, and her very favorite thing is to cuddle up with a person in a comfy chair and nap! She sleeps in a crate all night without complaint, but she loves to snuggle in the bed with you if given the opportunity.

A vet reference and/or home visit is required for adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abby, a Jefferson Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Jefferson, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Jefferson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jefferson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jefferson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jefferson paves the way for another one to be saved.
