Tess's Story...
Tess is a one year old, spayed, female border collie mix who was turned in by her owner who could no longer care for her. It is reported Tess is good with other dogs, but her behavior with cats is unknown. Tess is very sweet, but will do best in a home without children as they make her very nervous. It appears that Tess is house trained and also knows the commands, sit, stay, and kennel up. She does best in the car if she is in a crate. Tess will be available for adoption on 5/3/2013 at 6:00PM. UPDATE: Tess is currently at an off-site location and will be back at the shelter by Saturday.

If you want to apply for Tess click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Humane Society.Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tess, a Meridian Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
