Bubba Jack's Story...
Bubba Jack was rescued from a hoarding situation in February 2013. He was considered unadoptable by other shelters because of his appearance- his jaw is deformed by a large growth. Initially believed to be an ulcer, we now know the growth is cancer.
Bubba Jack spends his days napping in his favorite cubbies, and with his best friends. He enjoys picking high spots when alone, but Bubba stays low in a clinic cage when with his girlfriend, Winking Willow. Bubba Jack is curious about people and cats, but is a bit skittish. Go slow and offer head scratches- this “unadoptable” cat is such a sweet boy. He would love to carry on his romance with Winking Willow in a real home. Bubba Jack was born in late 2011.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bubba Jack, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
