Boone's Story...
Boone might be the cutest 5 month old puppy Farfel's has ever rescued...although we always say that when they're so huggable, fuzzy and just so lovable! Boone was discarded by a family with a 2-year old child because he played too roughly with the child. We will make sure that Boone's new family will understand that Beardies/Great Pyrenees are herding dogs and will play this way as puppies because they haven't been taught otherwise. Herding puppies should not be placed in a home with very young children under any circumstances as they will tend to herd then until trained to use their energies in more positive ways. This is in no way aggression but instinctual behavior that needs to be redirected. The perfect home for this gorgeous puppy would be an individual or couple with the time and desire to train Boone to be the amazing adult dog he has the potential to be. This will only be accomplished with love and positive reinforcement. We'd love Boone to participate in active family getting enough exercise and mental stimulation, he will learn to channel his energies in positive directions. This is especially vital with large dogs...Boone currently weighs 75 lbs and we anticipate a full-grown weight of 100 or so lbs. It's also critical that every puppy be socialized...trips downtown, walks around busy areas, rides in the car, group training classes...all will teach Boone to behave appropriately as an adult. Boone is not a hypoallergenic pup and a certain amount of shedding should be anticipated.

Boone is being fostered in Boulder, CO. Applications are currently being accepted for this exceptional puppy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Boone, a Boulder Bearded Collie/Great Pyrenees puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bearded Collie/Great Pyrenees for sale in Boulder, or seeking a Bearded Collie/Great Pyrenees puppy from a breeder in Boulder.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boulder already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boulder breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bearded Collie/Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Bearded Collie/Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boulder paves the way for another one to be saved.
