Houdini's Story...
Hi! My name is Houdini. I love people so much! Every time a person comes up to my cage, I start meowing and putting my paws out to grab their attention. I like to snuggle close and give lots of hugs and kisses. In fact, I was the recipient of START II's Post-Caturday Shelter Award for Most Hugs and Kisses! I like to play, too. But I have most fun when I'm playing with people. I tend to get lonely when I am by myself. My ideal forever home will consist of people (or person) who want to spend a lot of time with me. We don't even have to play all the time. I just like to hang out!

Houdini is current on his vaccination, neutered, parasite-free, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. If you are interested in meeting Houdini, please call Donna at (201) 873-7533 or email startkayne@gmail.com to schedule an appointment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Houdini, a Elmwood Park Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Elmwood Park, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Elmwood Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elmwood Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elmwood Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elmwood Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
