Corky is an active, well rounded, playful, affectionate and adorable little companion. Affectionate and loyal with family members, he can be a bit aloof or timid with strangers but does warm up quickly. He is a fun dog, full of life and always interested in what you are doing. He is intelligent and would do very well with further obedience classes. He would enjoy the company of another dog in the home, or children to play with. He would not do well with cats as he likes to harass them. Corky is approximately 1 - 1 1/2 years old and weighs approximately 13 lbs.
Here is what else the foster family had to say:
Corky is eager to please and is a good listener. He knows his basic commands such as sit, come, off and stay. He is very food motivated making him easy to train and he is very eager to please. He still pulls on leash but due to his small size he is easy to handle. He is crate trained and although he will put up a bit of a fuss when you first put him in, he settles pretty quickly and will sometimes go in his crate during the day for a nap. He loves having a yard to play in however it needs to be securely fenced or he may decide to go for a little excursion. He enjoys trips to the dog park and gets along well with other dogs of all sizes. He is not good with cats as he wants to chase them. He is fully house trained but still needs to be put out fairly often throughout the day or crated if you are out of the home for several hours.
Corky is very affectionate with his own people and although a little timid with strangers, he makes friends easily. His favourite things to do are to play with other dogs or spend time cuddling with you on the couch. He is a great buddy for watching tv and loves to sleep in your bed at night, under the covers. He will follow you wherever you go and is always interested in what you are doing. He loves riding in the car. He would enjoy a family with children to play with. He would do fine in an apartment as long as he got regular exercise.
Corky would do well in almost any situation. He loves his family and although he would best with further training in some areas, he will make a wonderful little companion.
If you think Corky would be a good fit for your family, please submit an application for consideration.
