My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 05/04/2013: FRANKIE is a 10 year old 4 lb male Yorkshire terrier; he is being fostered in The Villages, FL.

Frankie feels better each day He is very sweet and lovable, loves to be in your lap or snuggled-up next to you, and loves loves loves to give kisses. He follows the other dogs around and wants to play with them, but they haven’t accepted him into the “pack” yet, so he follows Foster Mom around everywhere she goes. Frankie’s skin condition is most likely caused by a severe flea infestation, since he has hundreds of tiny red bite marks on his little body. His hair is thin from his waist back, which is where he could bite and scratch. He is getting medicated shampoos 3x a week, and his skin already looks much better.

Frankie is getting 3-4 small meals a day and is slowly gaining much-needed weight; his healthy weight should be about 5 lbs. He is very curious when he goes outside, he wants to smell everything when outdoors. He is also housetrained and will use a wee-wee pad as well as go outdoors – yeah! He will have a dental when he is feeling better and will then be ready for adoption. Frankie has a mature cataract in his right eye and a cataract in his left eye, but that doesn’t seem to bother him. This little guy was most likely abandoned by someone that either didn’t want him anymore, or couldn’t care for him. Please don’t turn away from Frankie due to his age – he has so much love to give to his person and will be a loyal and faith companion. PLEASE NOTE: Due to Frankie’s small size he cannot go to a home with children, adults only!

INITIAL BIO 04/26/2013 MEET FRANKIE! Frankie is a 10-11 year old 3.12 lbs male Yorkshire terrier; he is being fostered in The Villages, FL.

Frankie is an adorable little boy who was abandoned at a church in South Florida, and picked up by Animal Control. His healthy weight should be closer to 4 1/2-5 lbs. He was very sick when picked up by Animal Control, and once UYR rescued him, he went straight to our vet. Frankie has very dry skin and a possible skin condition, which could be caused by allergies or perhaps a poor diet. He is a very sweet little boy, loves to be held, loves to give kisses; he was abandoned by his owners for unknown reasons. He certainly didn't deserve to be abandoned after the likelihood that he gave his family a lot of love and companionship over the years. Frankie needs a loving home where he can spend the rest of his life, and never ever be abandoned again. Stay tuned for more info on Frankie after he feels better and his foster parents get to know his personality.
