Carmen's Story...
We pulled beautiful Carmen from a high kill shelter in north Georgia after she was dumped, pregnant at the shelter. She delivered her pups 7 weeks ago in foster care and was a good mom, her first (and only!) litter! She's had enough of motherhood and now wants to get on with her own life! She's still a kid herself at 2 years old and ready to party! True to her border collie breed, Carmen is high energy and she needs daily exercise and mental stimulation. Her foster mom in Georgia is also her trainer so she has been working on perfecting her basic skills. She comes to her name, she walks well on the leash, has learned o keep her feet off the counter tops and is house trained. She is cautious and respectable of cats too and was on the foster farm with horses as well. Carmen gets along well with other dogs and loves to play play play! She is very active and likes to keep moving! Her ideal adopter would be able to wear her out! She is still on the thin side after puppies so be prepared to fatten her up! She is good in the bath tub and very good in the car. She has an appetite for hard shelled bugs (?) maybe that's her time on the streets showing through! But she thrived in foster care, delivered 7 healthy pups and is ready to be pampered and loved on herself! Carmen is crate trained, spayed, current on all vaccines and micro-chipped. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carmen, a Federal Way Border Collie/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd for sale in Federal Way, or seeking a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Federal Way.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Federal Way already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Federal Way breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Border Collie/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Federal Way paves the way for another one to be saved.
