My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SWEET, SWEET and SWEET!! Is the best way to describe this beautiful one. Marci was picked up as a stray by animal control. When she was put on the “urgent” list she was pulled out by her foster family because she was in danger of being euthanized and we want her to be adopted into a permanent home that will be hers forever. Marci is estimated to be around 5 yrs. old and she weighs 30 lbs. (just the perfect snuggling size) and has a docked tail. Heelers are very intelligent, alert, loyal and protective and they are happiest when they have a job to do (in her foster home, its protecting Marci’s person). Australian Cattle Dogs need proper exercise and training to channel their energy and Marci would be a wonderful addition to an active, energetic home with a yard and would be a wonderful farm dog as well. Blue heelers are also effective watch and guard dogs. Loyal and easily trained, they are good companions for people and families of just about any age. We are not sure if Marci had been in the house before so she is working on her house manners and is doing very well with her potty training. She sits very quietly in her crate until she is let out and just loves being outside and also sitting on the front porch so that she can “protect” her new home. Marci also loves to take long walks and would make an excellent jogging companion. She also gets very excited when she gets to go for car rides. She has a good temperament and very much wants to please. Marci is very submissive to her people and rolls over quite often for belly rubs. She is incredibly sweet natured and loving but also has a dominant nature and we believe she would do best as an only dog, although she is in a foster home with dogs and was also in a kennel with others at the animal control. Marci has been spayed, vaccinated, tested heartworm negative and is on preventative. She is such very good girl and needs just the right home to be at her best. Marci’s foster family has owned a spoiled, happy Heeler for over 10 yrs. and will be so happy to tell you about this WONDERFUL girl. (AE)
