My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are proud to announce Hershey is now ready for adoption. We knew it would just take a little time for him to mellow out and now he is an ankle twirler. He likes to be picked up and just purrs away when you lavish attention on him. This dashing young cat spent the first part of his life on the streets. But from the perfect house cat he is now, you would never know it. He gets along well with other kitties too. Hershey is around two years old. We estimate he was born in June 2011. Hershey is currently in a foster home and we can coordinate a meet and greet with an approved adoption application!

Hershey is an adult kitty we've had for a few months now. He was a bit reserved so we found a foster home for him, in hopes of polishing up his 'diamond in the rough' personality. The following is an update from his foster mommy Lynn (misfit adult cat foster extraordinaire!)

"I am Hershey's foster mom. I took him several weeks ago to 'socialize'. My initial goals were to be able to walk up to the cat and pick him up without him running away and to get him purring. It only took a couple of days with Hershey. What a handsome loving guy.

What I have found with him are the following:

He is an alpha male. He gets along with other cats but wants to be in charge. He should not be an only cat, perhaps a younger female would be a good match. He wants to play with my cats but doesn't quite know how.

He likes to be picked up and held. He starts purring as soon as you pick him up. He is a lap cat and he also follows me around the house. He sleeps with us and on top of us. My husband sleeps on his back and Hershey likes to sleep on his chest. His favorite spot is in a cat bed at the foot of our bed. He likes to have his tummy rubbed.

Likes toys especially the feather on the pole toy.

No children; he likes to chew on your hands. He will wrap his front paws around your wrist and bring it to his mouth and gnaw away. He has never extended his claws. This habit seems to be getting less and might be broken if you substitute a toy."

Experienced kitty owner required. Please share this post so we can place him in a forever home....
