Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jackson is a bashful guy that needs a little time to warm up to new people and new dogs. Because of his shyness we feel he would do best in a home with no children. He is looking for a patient forever home that will understand that after an adjustment period, he is a great dog that is smart, loving and fun. He is 100% potty trained and has never had an accident in the house. He is very food motivated which has led to quick training of commands like sit, down, stay, kennel, shake and even high five. He loves to chew on bones and is working on fetch. He likes to play in the fenced yard either alone or with his humans. He does not enjoy going on long walks or being on a leash for long periods of time, he finds it scary and prefers the comfort of home. He rides well in the car, but will not exit the car on his own the first time at a new place. The unknown is scary for him. After he has been to a place 3-4 times, he will exit on his own. He would do best as the only pet in the home as he is picky about his dog friends and although he currently lives with a cat, he often wants to play more than she does.
Jackson is 2 years old and weighs about 60lbs. He needs a forever home that will appreciate his sweet doggie kisses and his happy wagging tail.
Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom & dad are!), we are just guessing on breed and size when grown.
Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis.
If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.
