MEET FRANCO....a favorite at Lhasa Happy Homes. He should be, since he is our longest patient! He came from the Orange County Shelter with bladder stones and a "not so good prognosis." Balony. No dog should ever be killed because he needs medical care. Despite the costs, it's the luck of the draw. Franco had 4 surgeries....and he is worth every penny! We learned that his bladder stones were developing because of a "liver shunt." He ended up having two bladder stone surgeries, liver scan, liver shunt surgery and a urethra redirect (he pees like a girl)! Through it all, he has been a trouper! He is now healthy, no fears of stones anymore and is happy and rambunctious! Loves to play, loves to cuddle (on top of you is his favorite position!), loves to sleep in, loves to run around, LOVES his human. He is fine alone a couple of hours a day if he has canine buddies to hang out and play with. He is on a medication (Proin) which he will take for the rest of his life. Other than this, he's a normal boy! He uses the doggie door and seems to be potty trained, loves to cuddle, kiss and be your best friend. What more could you ask for? He is a kissy, fantastic pup! We anticipate that Franco will not have any further problems, but he will need regular check ups to make sure he continues to thrive!

Park in the Orange Section in the parking structure and come up the escallator and follow the signage. You can see this, and many more, adorable pups at this weekly event! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!!!
