DUGAN's Story...
Dugan just arrived on 5-4-13, weighing in at 8 pounds. He is 8 weeks old. Dugan is happy in crate. He does not seem to mind being in there. He slept trough the night, just cried a little in the beginning. He gets along well with my other dogs. He does not understand a leash as he is such a young puppy just being introduced to it. He likes to play with toys and run around proudly when he gets one. He is so cute to watch! He is teething so we have given him a kong bone to chew and he seems happy chewing away. He is a very young pup, therefore, its natural that he naps a lot. He is taken out often to start introducing housebreaking. He loves to sleep on the couch with my son and closes himself up in the corner. He is happy all the time and his tail wags whenever you speak to him. He is fine around his food, you can rub him while he eats. He chases you when you run around and loves to play. He has good canine social skills and understands that a dog does not want to be bothered when he is growled at. Overall, I think he is a wonderful dog.

UPDATE: Puppy is doing well. He is happy in crate at night. He likes to play outside and all his new toys inside. He likes to snuggle into my son or anyone else on the couch for naps. Because he is young he will run and play for about a half hour and then crash. He likes to go under my couch and then usually falls asleep under there with his back legs sticking out. It is so cute! I don’t think he will be hard to train because he already seems to get it. He goes out in the morning and after he eats. My grown dogs do not know what to make of him. They race around for a little while and then he will sleep…and so will they. He loves to be touching someone and is very happy being held. He’s a wonderful puppy.

UPDATE: Dugan is doing wonderfully. He is a curious puppy and likes to explore. He goes into his crate when he is tired or snuggles with us on the couch. There have been very few accidents so far. He really seems to understand that he goes to the bathroom outside. He sleeps quietly in
his crate at night and is happy to greet the family in the morning. He loves to eat and would eat his own food along with all of my three dogs if allowed. He loves people and believe me he has met a lot of them. Everyone agrees he is a great puppy. He still likes to crawl under the couch when tired, with his back legs sticking out.

UPDATE: Dugan went out today and was the hit of the show. Everyone loved him. He was well behaved and let children pet him and play with him. He loves to play outside and run up and down the hill chasing the ball. Every night at around 10:00 pm he goes into his crate on his own and sleeps through the night without an accident. He is a great dog.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

DUGAN, a West Milford Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog for sale in West Milford, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in West Milford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Milford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Milford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Milford paves the way for another one to be saved.
