Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This cocker puppy is now available for adoption. He came to rescue due to a leg injury that should never have happened to him at such a young age. We thought there might be a chance that this sweet boy could have kept his leg, but the vets decided that the only option was surgery to help ease the pain. Unfortunately the leg was amputated, as it was too badly injured for them to try and save it without it causing further problems.
My name is Eli Shark and I am a black n white, parti cocker boy with a natural tail. Originally these nice folks were told that I was probably just barely a year old or younger, but the CCR vet said that I was only about 6 months when I got here rescue. Now I am about 11 months old and I have been growing up here with these nice folks who have gone the extra mile to get me well. I was found hanging around as a stay by a man who tried to run me off his property, but I didn't leave. He finally took me in and cared for me. He noticed that I was hurt and favoring a leg from some sort of injury. He couldn't keep me but wanted to get me some help and a good home, so he took me to a shelter here in NC near the mountains. The shelter folks could not adopt me out due to my injured leg, so they contacted rescues to see if anyone could help. CCR agreed to take me and made the arrangements to bring me to rescue.
It looks like I will be a smaller, medium sized cocker boy. I am really shy and a very sweet boy. When I arrived here at CCR my leg was really hurting me and these nice rescue folks got me the care I needed to help end my pain. Yes, I may have had to lose my leg, but I am not going to let it stop me, as I am doing really well with my recovery even though there were some tough spots when I had complications and it took me some time to get through it. Now the vet says I am ready for a forever home and II really want a home of my own and someone to love me again for the special guy that I am. Yes I only have 3 legs, but I get around just fine and I would love to be your new baby boy and a favorite companion to share a great life with. I would love to meet you.
