Lucy Lou's Story...
Lucy Lou is a beautiful 3 yr. old Treeing Walker Coonhound. Though a bit small for the breed, weighing 35 lbs., she has every bit the distinctive behaviors and temperament. She is an “air scenter” and will follow her nose where ever it may lead, particularly up a tree. She is an extremely agile climber and with individual attention and training, exhibits excellent hunting potential. Because she becomes so motivated and focused on scent she can lose her way, making a tracking device necessary.

She is also a loving and affectionate companion, good with people, children and other dogs with similar play styles. However, with her natural hunting instincts, she should not be trusted with small animals. When not “on scent”, she enjoys being a couch potato, is house-trained and comfortable being in a kennel. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy Lou, a Brattleboro Treeing Walker Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Treeing Walker Coonhound for sale in Brattleboro, or seeking a Treeing Walker Coonhound dog from a breeder in Brattleboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brattleboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brattleboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Treeing Walker Coonhound breeders who help with Treeing Walker Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brattleboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
