Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Keegan: 3 - 4 yr old brown and black marbled Maine Coon
fostered in Santa Cruz
We don't know much of this boy's history. The shelter form says "Public Drop Off," no information given. Someone surrendered a gorgeous, very nice cat. It takes careful breeding to get a coat as plush, silky and rich as this boy's. He is very striking. You can see his dramatic markings with the marbled tabby's bullseyes on his sides.
Keegan was definitely upset to be in the shelter. You can tell he is still hanging back a bit, quiet and reserved, maybe sad. If you initiate petting with him he responds and puts his whole body into it and presses so hard into your hand. He is a very affectionate cat. However he is still not quite himself--not yet the outgoing, happy playful boy you know he is. He has a definite interest in feathers and loves to play and explore.
He will be fine as he settles in; we have not had him long. His new family needs to give him lots of love and time to grow back into his happy, goofy Maine Coon self. He seems friendly to other cats. I don't know how he would do with dogs. though I would guess he would be fine.
He is a fairly big guy and has the largest tail I think I have ever seen. He is quite magnificent and someone will be lucky to have his companionship. I haven't had him long and I will write more when I know him better.
He eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.
