Meow! My name is Julie
|Breed:||Domestic Longhair||Color:||Gray Or Blue (Mostly)||Age:||Young|
I am already spayed and up to date with shots.
JULIE has had it rough. She had a difficult start in life as a young mama kitty. She was trapped, along with her four babies, and taken into custody. She was just a baby herself, when she had her babies, and who knows what she went through before she was trapped. Julie found herself handed off to a couple that fed her but that knew nothing about cats. They just could not understand why Julie was not very social or forthcoming, even after several months. Julie was living in their laundry room with her 4 babies. The babies were small and not as threatening to the couple feeding them. Therefore, the babies got love and attention, but Julie did not. Finally, FURR assisted and found a place for all the babies to go, but Julie was headed for euthanasia by the couple due to being misunderstood. FURR decided to keep Julie to make a difference in her life. FURR is completely full, but with a donation from the couple that had her and to keep her alive, FURR took her in. Julie has only been with FURR for a short time, but she has shown remarkable improvement already! She is playing, running up to greet the volunteers, looking for her treats and letting us pet her and pick her up! Julie is a remarkable kitty and could not be more beautiful. The more we show her love, the more confident and happy she gets! How rewarding it is to change the life of an animal! Julie is less than a year old, is fixed, tested (negative for feline aids/leukemia/heart worm disease!), has had all her shots and is ready to go! This kitty will give you a remarkable amount of love if given half a chance! Julie would be just fine as an only kitty! We are extremely lucky to have Julie in our lives @ FURR and hope you will take the opportunity to come and meet her! Adoption to an approved home includes Microchipping! If you are not ready to adopt a kitty, please consider sponsoring (see link on our website – www.catfurr.org)! All donations are tax deductible!

F.U.R.R. is a small, non-profit organization made up of volunteers that have rescued and helped hundreds of cats that were in dire need and had no other humans to turn to. These include injured cats, sick cats, feral cats, cats whose owners had died without making arrangements for their pets, abandoned cats that were left when their owners moved, homeless mom cats with kittens, homeless kittens whose mom cat had died…the list goes on and on. Basically they are mostly homeless and unwanted cats that would have been euthanized in a shelter, died on the streets from an illness or accident, or continued to reproduce and add to the cat overpopulation problem.
Not only has F.U.R.R. helped the cats, but we've also helped many people in our community, people who have feral or stray cats overpopulation problems. Equally important is that many, many F.U.R.R. rescued kitties have been adopted and are now safe and loved!
Our cats and kittens are adopted to families and individuals to approved homes. An interview and a completed adoption application are required, and you will have the opportunity to meet the cat or kitten you are interested in. All applications will be carefully screened, and veterinary and personal references will be called.
All F.U.R.R. cats and kittens have been tested for FIV, FeLV, heartworms, and have been treated for parasites (fleas, worms, ear mites). They also receive distemper/combo vaccinations, a 1 year rabies vaccination, and are already spayed or neutered if old enough.
There is an adoption fee but this is a very small price to pay for a fully vetted cat or kitten, and the love you will receive from your new kitty!
Some of our kitties are residing in foster homes, but most of them live in the F.U.R.R. rescue facility, or as we like to call it 'the kitty lodge', while they are waiting to be adopted. If you would like to meet a particular cat, or would like to meet several of the kitties, please contact Terry at 864-483-2444 to arrange a visit to the kitty lodge.
