Abbott's Story...
I am a sweet, playful little kitten that was rescued with my mother Misty and brother Costello in Spring of 2013. We were starving outside when a family began to feed us. Then a nice RCAF volunteer agreed to take us, because the family couldn't keep us. I'm really playful. My twin, Costello, is a little more shy, so I check everything out first, so he knows all is "ok". Costello and I would love to be adopted together. If not, we'd like to go to a home where there is at least one more kitty! I'm a sweetheart! d.o.b. 1/10/13

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abbott, a Cleveland American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Cleveland, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Cleveland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cleveland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cleveland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cleveland paves the way for another one to be saved.
