Smokey Joe's Story...
Hey, y'all, "Smokey Joe" here and I am a smokin' good looking fellow, if I do say so myself! I was brought to this shelter because my former owner could no longer care for me. It's tough times nowadays and I understand, so I'm movin' on and looking forward to a new loving home. I'm a sweetie, the Volunteers all say. I'm friendly and loving and a real cuddler! And I have a really beautiful soft long coat! So, come on in and ask to visit with me. I'm in cage #109, waiting for ya!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smokey Joe, a El Cajon Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
