Maddie's Story...
Hi! My shelter name is "Maddie" and I'm a sweet girl who came to the shelter through no fault of my own. I'm a bit shy. I used to enjoy living inside with a nice owner but it's scary here being in a cage. I sure miss my nice laps to curl up with! The Volunteers here say I have a sweet, dainty face and they love my cute white whiskers and big gold eyes. I'm a youngster, just about 1 year and I'm already spayed, so I'm ready to rock 'n roll outa here! Please come in and ask to visit with me. I'm in cage #111.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maddie, a El Cajon Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
