Daisy's Story...
Daisy is 2 1/2 year old spayed female Kelpie/Cattle Dog blend whose owner could no longer care for her. She will be available for adoption on May 15th after 6pm. Daisy is a sweet timid girl who is going to need a very slow approach and patience until she becomes comfortable in her new home. Daisy has not had a lot of socialization, but does not show any type of aggression. Her previous owner reported she is good with other dogs, but needs time to adjust and become comfortable with them. It also appears that she loves cats. Daisy has lived in a home with children from ages 3 thru 15 with no issues. She isn't real crazy about going for car rides, but this is because she hasn't had the opportunity to go for many rides to become comfortable in a car. She does know her commands of sit and down. She accepts treats very gently, but doesn't seem to be real food motivated. It appears Daisy is house trained, but will submissive urinate if she is scared. Daisy will need a taller fence as she will jump a 4 foot fence. Daisy will bond to anyone who is patient with her and gives her the time and space she needs to where she isn't felt threatened. Oh, and she loves tummy rubs. Applications are now being accepted.

If you want to apply for Daisy click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Humane Society.Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Daisy, a Meridian Australian Kelpie/Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Kelpie/Cattle Dog for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Australian Kelpie/Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Kelpie/Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Kelpie/Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
