Mia's Story...
Mia was brought to the attention of one of our volunteers whose property she wandered onto in a rural county outside Richmond. Mia is @ 2-3 years old and @ 20 lbs but she is a little shorty, only about 1 foot tall! Mia is wonderful with children and adults and also gets along fine with other dogs - just an all-around friendly girl. She is also house-trained. Her foster says she is a very loving and submissive dog. If you would like to meet Mia and consider making her a part of your family, please complete an application at www.henricohumane.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mia, a Richmond Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
