Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Caleb reminds us of a flower just waiting to burst open...and all the love and devotion in the world will come pouring out. He's just a bit shy..but a hug and acknowledgement of how much he's loved will warm him up almost immediately. And then a bit of time and assurance...Caleb will bond will all the devotion that's sits inside of him. His tail will start to wag slowly...then joyously! He will wait for your invitation to embrace him...and from that point on...he's hooked. Caleb is never pushy or needy...just gentle with every great intention. At about 1.5 years old and 50 lbs, he was never given the benefit of leash-walking lessons...so a touch of patience and positive reinforcement will go far in his desire to associate a leash with fun and adventure. It appears he will be very easy and willing to train since his desire to please is so strong. We picture a family for Caleb that will nurture his desire for exercise and enjoy it right along with him. He does well at settling in after some hiking or playful fun...a seat on the couch next to his favorite person (or people) is just fine with this well-balanced guy. We'd like Caleb with an active family...or retirees...who have the time to enjoy his great energy and to provide him with positive training classes to make him the very best companion he can possibly be. Caleb enjoys kids and other dogs...we'd like him in a family with kids 12+ so they can be participants in the training of this great family companion. Caleb is a VERY light shedder (no more than 2 hairs on a black sweater) and it could be only seasonal with a good bath and brushing to get rid of the old coat. He is not suggested for anyone with severe allergy concerns.
Caleb will be transported to Denver in mid to late May. Applications are currently being accepted for this exceptional companion.
