I know how to wiggle butt, I know how to cuddle, I know how to get along with other dogs, I know how to entertain children, I am good around cats, I am learning crate training, I am house-trained and know how to signal I want out, you can walk me on leash or off, and I know my name and come when I am called. Brains and beautiful? I know, you think you've just died and gone to doggy heaven, huh baby? Well truth be told my beautiful fur is just waiting for you to come take me home! Don't just stand there, let's get to it, strike a pose, there's nothing to it. Vogue! 5 years old-20lbs. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chloe, a Portland Pug/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug/Dachshund for sale in Portland, or seeking a Pug/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug/Dachshund breeders who help with Pug/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
