Buddy has been through a lot since he was rescued at White Rock Lake by a nice couple . They tried to find someone to take him without much luck and ended up at their Mom's house in Dallas. He was doing fine although not getting enough attention . Unfortunately the next door neighbors are breeding Pit Bulls- huh?- and one of them attacked Buddy through the fence and he almost lost his foot. He was recovering in the couple bedroom but they knew they needed a better place for him... that's when we stepped in. No other rescues in Dallas responded to their pleas. We are all so full...but sometimes you just have to make room. He is at the rescue now. He is slow to trust and will show his big teeth to make sure you respect his space, but once he knows you he is a doll...he loves to play tug a war with a rope toy, plays with a football, loves to walk on a leash and go in our woods to play. He is a great dog, and will be a terrific protector of his home and family. He would do well with some obedience training, but he is a big puppy at a bout one year old with lots of energy and gives skeet kisses, too.

About Texas Best Choices Animal Rescue

About Our Shelter...

We started rescuing dogs in 2001 and became a non profit animal rescue in 2006 out of the sheer need to save animals from the streets, and pick up the ones dropped at our doorstep. We promote spay/neuter, and last year found forever homes for 129 animals from our location, and adopted over 400 through off site adoption..

Donate to Our Shelter...

Find the Pay Pal Donate Button on our Petfinder page or Facebook page.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are open 7 days a week by appointment. Weekends are preferred. Come see our waggin' tails and happy faces on 22 acres with large runs and a 5 acre play area. Email to ask for directions and to make an appt.

Our Adoption Process...

We have a simple contract ensuring that our rescue will be well taken care of, medically and physically, will never be tied or chained, and that a secure fenced area is provided for outdoor play. We want for each a loving home and to become part of a family. Every animal is up to date on shots and spay/neuter is required.
