Dutch's Story...
Dutch is a handsome male Akita who lost his home due to a unfortunate situation. Dutch has lived in a home as a only pet with his family his entire life. He has always been well mannered, quiet and non-destructive. Dutch is strong on leash and could use a little brush up course on his walking skills. This big boy is 100% Akita in looks and personality so he will need an experienced home where he can become part of the family once again.
If you're interested in Dutch, please go to our website at: BigEastAkitaRescue.net and fill out an online adoption application on Dutch.
Dutch is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dutch, a Toms River Akita dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Akita for sale in Toms River, or seeking a Akita dog from a breeder in Toms River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toms River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toms River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Akita breeders who help with Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toms River paves the way for another one to be saved.
