Pearl Moon's Story...
Pearl was with a group of dogs that were rescued from Holmes County. There were over 70 dogs being held in a basement and used for breeding. When Pearl was rescued she was pregnant. She immediately went into a foster home and was introduced to a life she did not know existed...being loved and getting to interact with other dogs. Pearl has had her litter and was a wonderful mom. She has learned how to be a dog in her foster home but still has some learning to do. Pearl is a sweet sweet girl who loves to be outside and play ball. She is good with other dogs and would probably fare much better with another dog in the home. She has never been around cats. The foster mom recommends that Pearl is crated when no one is home because she does not like to be left alone. Because she is still shy and sometimes unsure of the world it is recommended that kids in the family be over 7 years of age. Finally it's Pearl Moon's turn to find her forever loving home.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pearl Moon, a Elyria Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
