Keller's Story...
Keller is active and thriving. He is one special pup and super smart! He is already potty trained. He is quite laid back for being a puppy and enjoys playing ball but is just as content to lay down next to you and watch the world go by!

is 8 weeks old (May 11) and very smart for being so young. We are already working on potty training this sweet baby. Keller is partially blind due to a hypoxic episode from being strangled (UPDATE 5/14 his vision is improving every day and after a week of foster care he seems to have no more vision deficits!) However, this rough start has not deterred this sweet little guys disposition one bit! He loves other dogs, to run and play and will come when called. He is able to follow individuals so we aren't sure if he just has loss of vision in his periphery since he tends to bump into objects to the side and on the ground directly beneath him. Honestly, if you weren't told he was blind you would just think he is a very klutzy puppy at times. He is able to run and play like any other puppy. He even chases a ball and toys.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Keller, a Baton Rouge Cattle Dog/Catahoula Leopard Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cattle Dog/Catahoula Leopard Dog for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Cattle Dog/Catahoula Leopard Dog puppy from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cattle Dog/Catahoula Leopard Dog breeders who help with Cattle Dog/Catahoula Leopard Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
