Mr. Pugg's Story...
Mr. Pugg is a 5-6 year old male pug that was found frozen on the side of the road in the middle of winter by one of our directors. Generally we do not take in stray dogs, however leaving him to get hit by a car or freeze to death was not an option, and turning him into an overcrowded rural shelter was not a good idea. We contacted the appropriate shelters and posted fliers and no one came looking for the skinny dirty man.
Mr. Pugg has lived with our trainer for a few months now, he is housebroken and crate trained and good with other dogs and cats. He is a sweet and happy older man that is just in search of a warm couch and an indoor home. He is neutered, microchipped, UTD on shots, HW neg, and fully vetted. He has also had some "senior" bloodwork run. His adoption fee is $230. Fill out an application at www.fidosrescueandrehab.petfinder.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mr. Pugg, a Lancaster Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Lancaster, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in Lancaster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lancaster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lancaster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lancaster paves the way for another one to be saved.
