Tess McGill's Story...
Tess McGill requires a secure fenced yard. The fence must be very tight since Tess is small, at thirteen pounds. In her previous life she was in a breeding facility and is still timid with people. She has a very sweet disposition and is a quick learner when she feels secure. Once comfortable, Tess enjoys playing with other dogs and sitting in a lap getting soothing petting. Tess does not walk well on a leash yet, but we are practicing with a harness, in secure areas. Tess McGill was returned to rescue when her human dad passed away. Tess was born 03/16/2007. Tess would not make a good companion in a home with small children, they will frighten her.

We require a secure fenced yard, we do not accept "invisible" electric fences. We will check your fence. All our dogs are spay/neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm tested and on prevention, on Flea & Tick prevention and microchipped. Dentals are completed as needed. You may meet our dogs at Petco on W. 75th Street, just East of Metcalf in Overland Park, KS on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 10 to 2 and the 1st Sunday of the month from 11 to 3 or by Appointment. We DO NOT SHIP our dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tess McGill, a Mission Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Mission, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Mission.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mission already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mission breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mission paves the way for another one to be saved.
