Mrs. Garfield's Story...
Mrs. Garfield is a gentle, sweet kitty, affectionate and playful, and full of life. She loves toys and playing with other cats, and especially playing with interactive toys with her people. She especially loves cuddles and pets, and is a great kitty in every way!

This adorable tabby is from SE Washington, where she was born the summer of 2012. She lived a happy life with her family until the landlady said they had “too many cats, you can only have two!” So her kind people gave the very sweetest up for adoption, and kept the shy ones who needed them most! Unfortunately it does mean that Mrs. Garfield, who is just as sweet and fun as can be, needs a new, loving, responsible home. But they knew 4Paws would help her meet wonderful new people and find that perfect new family. Mrs. Garfield needs people who will love her and give her lots of new toys, and entice her with dangly toys, fuzzy mice, and maybe even the illusive “red dot”! She would also like a new kitty friend to play with.

Mrs. Garfield is spayed, vaccinated, and tests negative for FIV/Felv. Now she just needs a new human and kitty family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mrs. Garfield, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
