Jenga's Story...
Jenga is a timid but sweet ~4 year old yorkiepoo? rescued from a puppy mill. She LOVES other dogs and is very sweet and gentle with them, and will need a patient adult home with at least one other dog to help her learn to trust people. Please submit an application if you are interested.

5/11/13- Meet the parents of that cute puppy in the window... Our 13 new puppy mill moms and dads have arrived, and they are a mess! All are scared but sweet, and came covered in thick filthy mats and the stench of an Amish barn. They are at our vet right now and will all be cleaned up, altered, have their rotted teeth removed, and be treated for various ear and skin infections and will be ready for adoption soon... check our website for updates. They are 2-8 years old and all will need calmer patient adult homes with another friendly dog to help teach them to enjoy life in a real home! Huge thank you once again to our friends at No More Tears puppymill rescue for saving these and many more from lives of suffering and getting them to rescues like ours!

We are in desperate need of donations toward their care, please mail donations to Second Chance Pet Adoption League, P.O. Box 221, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438 or donate through paypal on our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com. Thank you!

Most importantly please remember the plight of these dogs who spend their lives suffering in puppy mills nationwide and share with anyone who may consider buying a puppy from a pet store. NO REPUTABLE BREEDER WOULD EVER SELL TO A PET STORE- no matter where the pet store claims they buy their puppies from, they all come from puppy mills, breeding farms, commercial breeders, brokers, etc. and their parents live in cages with minimal medical care, grooming, and human attention. Even if you are lucky enough to buy a happy healthy puppy, your money directly encourages this to continue.

We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS). To help us better match a pet to your household, we request you fill out an application on our homepage www.secondchance.petfinder.com and copy and paste it into an email, or print it and bring it to our adoption day when you come. Local inquiries only please- we do not do long distance adoptions.

Can't adopt but still want to help this dog? Click on the "Sponsor Me" button at the top of this page to donate toward his/her care! All donations are tax-deductible and go directly toward the care of our rescue dogs. Thank you for your support!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jenga, a Oak Ridge Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) for sale in Oak Ridge, or seeking a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) dog from a breeder in Oak Ridge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oak Ridge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oak Ridge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) breeders who help with Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oak Ridge paves the way for another one to be saved.
