Cookie's Story...
Cookie was found wandering as a stray and luckily was taken in my a good samaritan before she could get pregnant. Unfortunately like many dogs in the south Cookie has Heartworms. She is undergoing treatment and will available to be adopted as soon as she is done with it. We are still taking applications for her and will work them in the order they come in. She's currently living with lots of little dogs and does great with them! She's housebroken and stays in a crate while her mom is gone. She's also living with some cats as well. If you'd like to give this girl the house she's dreamed of please email info@forrescue.net.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cookie, a Homewood Labrador Retriever/Blue Heeler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Blue Heeler for sale in Homewood, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Blue Heeler dog from a breeder in Homewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Blue Heeler breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Blue Heeler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
