Libby's Story...
Libby was rescued from Death Row. She had whipworm very bad, and was unable to gain weight. The whipworm has been treated however she is about 10 lbs underweight. She is 30 lbs now, and approx 10-12 months old. She is current on all vaccines and will be microchipped and spayed when she puts on a few pounds. She is a very sweet girl that has gotten along with every dog we have introduced her to and she is good with children. She has a wonderful temperament. She loves to sit in our lap and just cuddle. She loves being part of a family. I admit we knew nothing about the Cur breed before we rescued her. Her eyes are beautiful and green, they almost look like glass marbles, which is a trait of the Catahoula Leopard Dog. Her fur is striped like a tiger but more subtle than that of a tiger's coat. she is a very unusual looking dog that will be absolutely beautiful when she gains some weight. An active family is needed for this type of breed, where she will get regular walks or time at the dog park. We will be posting more pictures and updated info soon. Libby's adoption fee is $150. Libby is being fostered in Valparaiso.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Libby, a Syracuse Catahoula Leopard Dog/Mountain Cur dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Mountain Cur for sale in Syracuse, or seeking a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Mountain Cur dog from a breeder in Syracuse.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Syracuse already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Syracuse breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Catahoula Leopard Dog/Mountain Cur breeders who help with Catahoula Leopard Dog/Mountain Cur rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Syracuse paves the way for another one to be saved.
