Cody's Story...
Cody is a teenage Citron Cockatoo. He loves to talk with you. He's a very energetic and active little guy. Like most cockatoos Cody can be loud. He will hop onto your arm and put his head down for head scratches. He says "Hello", "Pretty Bird", "What?", "What are you doing?", "OK", "Hi Boy", wolf whistles, laughs, & makes a coughing noise. Cody is very smart. He loves foraging toys and likes to chew wood blocks. As you can see Cody is a beautiful fully feathered cockatoo. He needs to go to a home with large bird experience.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cody, a St. Louis Cockatoo was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cockatoo for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Cockatoo from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cockatoo breeders who help with Cockatoo rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
