Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gretchen is a remarkable 2.5 yr old (1/26/14) girl who has been through alot. She weighed just 18# when she was found alongside a country road. In fact, I passed by her first time because she was so emaciated and small I didn't see her. She also had red mange with large patches of hair loss. It was no wonder she was very frightened. She was given IV's and several meals a day. She would not come out of her cage to eat unless I left the room.
Now she is 30#, leash/crate and house trained. She still is a bit shy with strangers, but comes to you to be petted. She gets along well with all other dogs and cats. She shows some interest in pursuing cats, but has never done so. She has a beautiful coat. She needs a fenced yard and a patient family to continue her training. She is very sweet and loving. She is heartworm negative.
Although Gretchen is currently in Amite, Louisiana, transport to New England can easily be arranged through Animal Rescue Front.
