Taco's Story...
Taco and Salsa are two super playful, fun-loving boys born at the end of November 2012. Taco is a soft, sleek black kitty while Salsa has beautiful, distinctive tabby markings. They are very sweet and friendly little guys who were rescued from a local high-kill shelter along with their siblings, Queso, Guacamole, Beans, and Nacho.

These guys like to play hard, sleep hard, and snuggle hard – if someone so much as touches Salsa, he starts purring and melts into your arms like a ragdoll. They love to play and wrestle and seem to have endless amounts of energy, as most kittens do. No one is immune to giggling at their hilarious antics, whether they’re playing a spirited game of tag or spinning around a pen someone was so kind as to drop on the floor.

And, as if that isn’t adorable enough, they sometimes sleep holding hands. When it’s nap time, you can find them cuddling happily together, not a care in the world.

Taco and Salsa are very adventurous and get along fine with other cats and dogs. Loving, gentle, and trusting, they should make a wonderful addition to any family. They need a home where they will have plenty of toys to entertain them (and you).

Taco and Salsa are neutered, tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia, and are current on all vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Taco, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
