PENNY. Such a cutie! Penny is an 18 month old spayed female red smooth (with white markings) miniature dachshund (8.9 pounds). She is frightened by children, so adult family please. She's got a lot going for her, just needs her puppy training and a forever home where owners have time for her. Don't miss this sweetheart? She plays well with neutered male dachshunds, but she likes to be the one and only female. She is quite alpha and will fight with other females. She loves to chase and play and is full of energy. Loves her treats, walks, and sunbathing. Non-barker, and will whine when she needs to go out to potty.
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues. All our dogs are fully vetted, including all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, no exceptions as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training. Can you give her a happy, carefree life that she deserves?
