Duncan's Story...
Hi! My name is Duncan and I was born in September 2012. I love to play with my tennis ball (making it roll everywhere!) and with socks and to chew on nylabones. I have 6 foster siblings, big and small, and I like them all. I wrestle and play with them and listen to them so I can have good dog manners.

I am learning from my foster humans, too. I already know sit, wait, down, off, look at me, and leave it. I walk well on a leash and I like that because I get to see things besides the backyard! I am house-trained and crate-trained and just finished a fun training class (Family Dog 1) with my foster mom -- I'm a graduate now! I am a little bit shy around new people, but warm up if you get down on my level and give me a little time to get to know you. I'll tell you a secret, though -- little kids make me pretty nervous, so much so that I tend to get shaky and scared around them. (It's nothing personal. I'm sure they mean well, but they are so unpredictable and sometimes kind of loud!) That said, my foster mom is working with me and I'm gaining confidence every day.

I've also become a jogger! I LOVE when momma Jenn takes me running with her! I've learned commands to keep us safe when running and walking on a leash.....left, right, and side! Need a runnin' buddy??

One more thing...my foster mom says I'm kinda famous...something about having my own Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/DuncanAmericanPitBullTerrierPuppy)? I don't know what that means...but she says humans like it. We post on there to let everyone know of all the fun things I do and show them all my cute pictures.

I love my foster mom and siblings, but would really like a home and family to call my own forever...could it be yours?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duncan, a Greensboro American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Greensboro, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Greensboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greensboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greensboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greensboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
