My story

Janie's story must be seen to be believed! About two years old, she was brought into the shelter as a stray dog who had been run over by a car. Severely injured, she was too scared to let anyone near her.

So, how do you heal a dog that knows pain and mistrust? Show them a greater amount of love and patience, of course.

Janie didn't just emerge from her shell, she completely erupted out of it! Incredibly intelligent, she knows the sit and down commands and will even go to the door when she needs to go potty.

She's not only wonderful around other dogs, she's even made friends with a cat! Her hobbies and interests are: playing with toys, playing in sleeping bags, belly rubs, chin scratches, being brushed/groomed.

A real snuggler, Janie loves sleeping with her human companions with her chin on your shoulder or burrowed under the covers at the foot of the bed.

She would be excellent in a family with other small dogs, even a cat or two! Her energy level is suited for someone without small children.

She is truly a miracle dog who has blossomed beyond anything we could've ever imagined. She's finally ready to open her heart to not just let love in but to also spread the love that's been waiting to burst out of her.
