Phil's Story...
Me, my brother and sister were snuggled under that tractor sleeping soundly. Suddenly the roar of the tractor motor woke us up! The farmer looked down and said "what have we here?". Our momma was nowhere to be found. He scooped us up and took us to the HCHS-G, from there we went to a foster home. It's really nice here! You can visit me by calling the shelter number (944-4868). I am too little to be adopted but they said June 8th I will be ready to go to a forever home. You can put me on hold until then with an approved adoption application and deposit. My estimated DOB is 4-13-13. Tomorrow I will be 5 weeks old. POSTED MAY 17, 2013.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Phil, a Geneseo Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Geneseo, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Geneseo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Geneseo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Geneseo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Geneseo paves the way for another one to be saved.
