Desi's Story...
Hi! My name is Desi! I came into the pug rescue as a stray, but I have adjusted very well to my new life. My left eye was damaged and is now blind, but that doesn’t stop me! I am a 2-year-old male, and I’ve been neutered. Also, people tell me that I am VERY handsome. J One of my favorite things to do is knock off the pillows on the couch and sprawl out for a nap. I also like to chew on rawhides, and I LOVE to fetch any squeaky toy. My foster mom says I’m great on walks and I play very nice with my foster brother Gordy. I like everyone in my foster home, even the teenager that lives here. I’m being crate-trained, and it doesn’t bother me at all – I sometimes even lay in my crate when I don’t have to! I’ve only had one accident in my foster home, and I’m getting the hang of going outside. I am looking for a family that will give me a stable, loving home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Desi, a Austin Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Austin, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
