My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I am Katherine Hepburn!
I am a classy older lady around ten years old around 21 pounds. Did you notice that the blaze on my forehead is shaped like a heart? That’s because I have such a huge heart!I spent my life having lots of Beagle puppies and now need to find my special person(s) to love me for the rest of my golden years.
Everyone who meets me says I am The Sweetest Dog Ever:
I just like to sleep and cuddle so a quiet home without kids would be awesome.I would be SO happy if I could find someone who is retired or works from home.
I rarely bark but have a sweet little howl I greet Mom with every day.
I am now officially housetrained!
I slip on wood floors so runner rugs are important.
I snore, sometimes LOUD.
I am nearly blind but that is not a problem.
I am fine with other dogs if they don’t get in my face. I would be happy as the Only Dog, too.
I live with an old cat but ignore her.
Going for a Walk is the Best Thing Ever! I am great on leash and walk briskly but will run into obstacles or low branches if Mom doesn’t guide me around them. I love getting a few walks every day to keep my legs strong.
A fenced yard is safer for me than a tie-out. I’m going to guess that a dog park might not be a good place for me, either.
I cry my eyes out in the crate! I dislike being crated so much that I shredded my beds as well as the thick plastic pan. I used to go and hide when Mom was leaving. Now Mom lets me sleep on the couch with the other Beagles when she goes to work and I am a Very Good Girl all day. But if she leaves dog or people food where I can get to it, I can’t help but rip it open and help myself. She is trained not to do that anymore.
Mom lets me sleep on the couch with the other Beagles when she goes to work and I am a Good Girl all day.
I was really dehydrated when I got here and when I eat kibble, I get dried out again. So I need to stay on a high moisture diet (chunky canned food with extra water added or rehydrated raw, extra soupy.)
Come and meet me at Beaglefest May 18th!
