Lady's Story...
IN FOSTER: Lady is in need of a new home! Lady was found on March 27th near Brownsdale, MN. She was scared, skinny and had sores on her paws from traveling in the cold. We are not sure how long she had been out in the elements, or whether she was lost or if someone had abandoned her. The finders checked with neighbors, but no one seemed to know who she was or to whom she belonged. Lady is now with us at the Mower County Humane Society, but do note SHE IS IN A FOSTER HOME, not at the Shelter. Lady looks to be a small-sized Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix, she is about 5 years old and right now weighs about 44 pounds. We expect her to be around 50 pounds when fed properly. According to the people that found her, it is obvious that Lady is an indoor housepet and not an outdoor dog. She is a very mellow and softspoken gal. Lady has been spayed and is up to date with all vaccinations and has even had a dental cleaning. Her new home should have plenty of available love to give this “Lady” and a fenced yard would be a plus. Her adoption fee is only $75. If interested, please send us an e-mail.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lady, a Austin Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Golden Retriever for sale in Austin, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
