Toby is an adorable 9-year-old with handsome big brown eyes. He can give you one look and you'll be butter! He was turned in by owners who did not have the time to take care of him.
Toby loves people, especially children. There is one small caveat, however. You know how toddlers love to wave their food around before it finally makes it into their mouth? Toby sees that as an invitation to steal that tasty morsel. He's also occasionally mistaken a child's toy for a chew toy -- an honest mistake! -- so families with older children or teens would be best for this boy.
Toby loves hanging out with his two doggy foster brothers. We can test him for cats if you have a feline friend. He sleeps in his dog bed but will gladly get up in your lap when invited. Eager to please, he's learning basic commands like Sit and Stay. In a basic manners class, he could really learn a lot!
Just about the perfect dog, right? Well, Toby does have one issue: Cushing's Disease. Right now, he requires a daily pill to stay healthy. Cushing's also makes Toby have to pee more often, so he'll need a home where he can go outside to relieve himself whenever he feels the need. This can be achieved with a doggy door or with someone who works from home or is retired. Toby is crate-trained for when you need to leave the house and will happily work on his favorite treat, a Kong stuffed with peanut butter, until you return.
Are you ready for this joyful, snuggly boy to join your family?
