Paws for the Cause focus is primarily on TNR (trap, neuter, return) of feral cats, in an effort to reduce the amount of homeless animals, as well as rescue and adoption of domestic cats/kittens. We are also a registered food bank with Petco, helping those with financial instability to keep their pets, thus reducing the number of animals relinquished to shelters. We do take in domestic cats for adoption but we do NOT adopt out feral cats. All the cats adopted through Paws for the Cause are completely domesticated animals. However, we do place our feral cats in barn environments when they become available.
Paws for the Cause Adoption Events are held at the Petco in Chesterfield Township and Sterling Heights (Lakeside Circle) The events are held Saturday from 12-3 and Sundays from 12-2. If you are interested in attending one of our events and meeting our adoptable cats please contact us to find out which location we will be at. Private meetings can also be scheduled if these days/times do not work with your schedule.
Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption process involves a "meet and greet" with the cat(s) you are interested in adopting, as well as an adoption application. The application takes 24 hours to be reviewed and if accepted, there is an additional adoption contract as well as an adoption fee. Adoption fees for kittens are $75 and adults are $50.

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
