Princess's Story...
Meet Princess. Princess was pulled from a high kill shelter in SE KY and is ready for her new home. She is such a little cuddlebug and loves to be held. Her favorite place is a warm lap. She is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 7lbs. She is the perfect size to be dressed up and packed around in a purse. She can be a little shy at first but bonds quickly and tightly to her person. She seems to prefer females over males. She has been spayed, up-to-date with vaccinations, heartworm tested, given a fecal exam (and dewormer if needed), microchipped, and groomed. If you are interested in adopting Miss Princess, please email for an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Princess, a Hazard Maltese/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese/Shih Tzu for sale in Hazard, or seeking a Maltese/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Hazard.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hazard already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hazard breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Maltese/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hazard paves the way for another one to be saved.
