Petey's Story...
Hi! My name is Petey! I am a 4-month-old gray tabby. Currently, I am in one of START II's wonderful foster homes. When I first arrived, I was terrified of people. But my foster mom has been working with me daily and challenging my limits. I'm still a little skittish, but I've made a huge improvement. It is important that me new forever parent(s) continue this work!! I love playing with other cats - kittens or adults, I have no preference. Every day, my foster mom tells me I'm a good boy. And you know what? I am! I also love to play with toys. I'll play with whatever I can get my paws around. You know what that means, right? That I'll provide you with hours of entertainment! So, forever parent(s), stock up on a variety of toys! I really enjoy cookie time, too! My ideal forever home will provide me with unconditional love, give me security, and work with me daily to become more acclimated with people.

Petey is current on his vaccinations, parasite-free, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. If you are interested in meeting Petey, please call Donna at (201) 873-7533 or email startkayne@gmail.com to schedule an appointment. Serious adoption inquiries only, please.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Petey, a Elmwood Park Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Elmwood Park, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Elmwood Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elmwood Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elmwood Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elmwood Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
