Parker arrived on 28 March 2013. He is one of many stray bunnies that were living in a rural community in North Grenville. His situation involves many stray (partially to fully feral) rabbits that have been allowed to breed and run free off of an individual’s property. Most of these rabbits are simply disappearing after a few weeks or month of being first seen or are being hit on roads and this is no life for these beautiful sweethearts. With the help of a few of the families in this rural community we are catching and taking in any of these bunnies that can be saved.

Parker is one of the lucky ones…

He was, when he first arrived, terrified of humans but he has been working very hard with his foster family to shed these fears and to trust and love his humans AND he is doing amazingly well.

He is, at this time, only adoptable to an experienced bunny owner. He needs a home that will understand that he needs to learn, to trust and to not be afraid. He needs a home that will help him continue to grow without judgment, someone with patience and who will remember to never take Parker's fear of them personally. He is an amazingly sweet and loving boy and we are honoured to have had this very rewarding opportunity to help him find a better life… a real life!

We are hoping that with time, Parker will lose his "Experienced Adopter Only" status as he continues to improve everyday!

Parker is such a sweet guy!! He is still unsure of pets but loves his treats (especially apple and banana) and loves to spend time in the company of his foster family. He just wants to be a normal bunny and part of a loving family. Soon Parker… soon.

About New Moon Rabbit Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

New Moon Rabbit Rescue was formed in September 2006 with one main goal: to provide unwanted, abandoned, neglected, or abused domestic rabbits with a second chance at human love and appropriate care.

We are a "no-kill" organization dedicated to providing care for rescued domestic rabbits. All rabbits remain in foster homes until such time as they are adopted to loving, caring homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of New Moon's rabbits are in foster care at this time. If you are interested in meeting a particular rabbit you must fill out an adoption application. Upon approval a meeting with the foster home will be arranged.

Our Adoption Process...

All rabbits that come into the care of New Moon Rabbit Rescue are spayed or neutered, health checked and if necessary, fully rehabilitated before adoption. Potential adopters are thoroughly screened to ensure that the rabbits will be entering safe and happy environments.

Every potential adopter must fill out an application, either online or by printing and filling out the PDF document. It can be faxed to 613-482-2056. You will receive a phone call within a few days to discuss your application. Please review our adoption contract, which you will required to sign upon picking up your new rabbit. Please note that all adopters must be approved before visiting the rabbits.

Our adoption policies state that we do not adopt to children, however we do adopt to families with children in which children may aid parents in caring for the rabbit. New Moon rabbits are adopted out as house pets only and are not to be housed outdoors. There will be NO exceptions to either of these strict policies.

Our adoption fees are $85 for a single rabbit and $130 for an already bonded pair. All adoption fees are non-refundable, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the rabbits of New Moon. We are wiling to adopt outside of our area, but you must be willing to pick up your new friend.
