Need a reminder why we love Goldens so much? Meet Murray. He is the a 7 year old Golden of Goldens. He is almost always grinning, he has a wonderful little "pet me" dance bouncing up and down on his front feet (they hardly ever come up far enough to actually be "jumping" on someone).
He always greets people with toys and remembers where he left the last one. He knows "sit" and "down" and is working on "stay." Stay is a hard one for such a squiggly boy. He charms everyone who meets him -- dogs and people alike. He does like to please and once he learns something, he is good about doing it even when it isn't his "favorite." Although his paperwork says that he is 7 years old, he doesn't believe that!! He loves to run and play with other dogs.
He has had issues in the past with being crated (his front teeth are worn down to his gums from trying to chew his way out of something before he came to GRFR). The good news is that there is no need to crate him; he is perfectly house broken and has never chewed on anything but toys or bones. He doesn't like to be physically coerced (who does?) and may bite if grabbed by the collar or faced with something that really scares him. There is really no reason to pull on his collar; he goes in and out when asked and is ALWAYS happy to jump in the car. He LOVES rides. He needs a patient, experienced home without children who will understand his "foibles" and work with him. He is a delightful boy and will brighten every minute of your day.
